Psalm 133 (Listen)
133:1 Behold, how good and pleasant it is
when brothers dwell in unity!
2 It is like the precious oil on the head,
running down on the beard,
on the beard of Aaron,
running down on the collar of his robes!
3 It is like the dew of Hermon,
which falls on the mountains of Zion!
For there the LORD has commanded the blessing,
life forevermore.
Devotional:
How delightfully good when brothers live together in harmony! (Psalm 133:1)
I will praise and thank the Lord because His people can live in unity. People long for peace, but we often seek it in the wrong ways and places. Human beings were not created for the stress of unrest. Unity is a blessing that begins by first making peace with God through Christ. Hearts that are first surrendered to God can be molded by the Holy Spirit to extend that love to others in the church and outside of the church. Have you taken that first step to peace? There is no shortcut.
Pray It: Father, help me to live in peace and unity among your people through surrendering to the Holy Spirit and seeking what is good for others, not just myself. May the unity found in your church speak to our world of division and testify to the reality of the gospel message. Amen.
