Psalm 121 (Listen)
121:1 I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
2 My help comes from the LORD,
who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD is your keeper;
the LORD is your shade on your right hand.
6 The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
8 The LORD will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore.
Devotional:
The Lord will protect your coming and going both now and forever. (Psalm 121:8)
I praise and thank the Lord because He guards me in any direction that I may come and go. Sometimes we do not know which way to turn. Should I say “yes” or “no”? If I do the right thing, it might put me in danger! What should I do when no one is looking? God is very aware of our struggles and wants us to trust Him. We do not know from one minute to the next what we may face but God does, and He assures us that He has our back. His Word is part of the help that He provides. When we put God’s Word in our mind, it is there for the Holy Spirit to bring to our recall. In the end, the best way to learn that you can trust God is to trust God!
Pray It: Father, thank you for both protecting me and for guiding me. Help me to trust you by choosing to go in the direction that pleases rather than my natural desires. Amen.
