Matthew 9:35–38 (Listen)

35 And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

Devotional:

Pray for Workers

Many people are willing to give their life to Jesus but are unsure how to go about following Him. Jesus asks us to pray for those to be built up to lead people in relation with Jesus. God often answers prayers by calling us into action. Be prepared when God calls you to lead another towards a relationship with Him.

Challenge: Taking a step in your faith isn’t easy and can be intimidating. Ask God to help you step out of your comfort zone and into faith as you seek out a life as a disciple of Christ.

Reflection: What are you doing today to make disciples of Jesus?
