Psalm 15 (Listen)

15:1   O LORD, who shall sojourn in your tent?
    Who shall dwell on your holy hill?
  He who walks blamelessly and does what is right
    and speaks truth in his heart;
  who does not slander with his tongue
    and does no evil to his neighbor,
    nor takes up a reproach against his friend;
  in whose eyes a vile person is despised,
    but who honors those who fear the LORD;
  who swears to his own hurt and does not change;
  who does not put out his money at interest
    and does not take a bribe against the innocent.
  He who does these things shall never be moved.

Devotional:

Lord, who can dwell in your tent? Who shall live on your holy mountain? (Psalm 15:1 CSB)

The tabernacle was a tent-like structure that was crafted during the days of Moses where people gathered to worship God. Exodus 40:32 tells us that those who entered the tent washed themselves with water before they went in. Today, we do not have to wash ourselves before we come into God’s presence; instead, Jesus washes us. And God actually lives in us through His Spirit in our hearts. What a blessing! Do you need to be cleansed? Come to Jesus. Do you want to dwell with God? Come to Jesus. No matter what you have done or failed to do, Jesus deeply desires an intimate relationship with you. Why wait? Come to Jesus and be cleansed today.

Pray it: Father, I thank you for cleansing me through Jesus so that I can dwell with you in spite of my sin – and for the gift of the Spirit dwelling in me. Help me to live as a temple of God, remembering that you are with me wherever I go. Amen.
